MILIA

WHITE SPOTS OR ‘MILIA’ ARE SMALL BUMPY CYSTS, THAT CAN APPEAR ANYWHERE ON THE FACE AND BODY BUT THE MOST COMMON AREAS ARE THE EYES, NOSE AND MOUTH.

Milia is extremely common amongst babies, young children and adults and are a harmless build-up of dead skin cells (keratin). Often, these spots are impossible to extract without potential scarring and torturing discomfort.

Milia can remain for weeks and sometimes months, before they eventually break down naturally.

WHAT CAUSES IT?

The cause of milia is only a harmless build-up of dead skin cells (keratin) in the skin.

TREATMENTS FOR MILIA

Milia tends to disappear on its own but can take several weeks, sometimes months to do so.  They are extremely difficult and painful to extract at home, at tends to result in scarring. At Skinfit Studio, we use a needle and extraction method to safely remove milia.
